We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team and provide 1:1 care to a respectful and intelligent 36-year-old man who is Deaf and Autistic, residing in Escondido, CA. We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team and provide 1:1 care to a respectful and intelligent 36-year-old man who is Deaf and Autistic, residing in Escondido, CA. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that values person-centered support, communication, and dignity.
As a DSP, you will play a critical role in supporting our client with his daily living needs, fostering independence, and creating a safe and engaging home environment. Your support will help promote his quality of life, well-being, and access to his local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful and individualized support in daily routines and activities, including assistance with cooking, cleaning, and home organization (no bathing or grooming required).
- Support the client with transportation to local stores or appointments, ensuring safety and clear communication.
- Foster social engagement and meaningful interaction through activities and community involvement.
- Monitor and document client behavior, mood, and any changes in condition, promptly reporting concerns.
- Uphold a clean, organized, and safe home environment by following health and safety protocols.
- Support positive behavior and implement redirection techniques as needed.
- Build a trusting, professional relationship with the client through compassionate and consistent companionship.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals who are Deaf, Autistic, or neurodivergent is highly valued – but not required. We are happy to train the right candidate!

Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred but not mandatory – willingness to learn is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- A reliable vehicle for transportation to and from the client’s home is required.
- Ability to pass Live Scan fingerprint background check and drug screening per California regulations.

CPR certification is a plus.
- Strong communication, patience, and a team-player attitude are essential.
Available Shifts
We are actively hiring for the following shifts:

Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM & 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Sunday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM & 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Tuesday–Friday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Additional hours or shift coverage may be requested – dependability is key.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive Pay: $20.00 – $25.00/hour, based on experience and availability
